Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams set to host British Boxing Awards

Nicola Adams has been revealed as the host for the British Boxing Awards, which will celebrate the great and good of the sport in November.

The major event, partnered by Mail Sport, will host some of the biggest names in British boxing and the celebrity world on November 8 in London.

It is the first time that all levels of British boxing, from the grassroots gym volunteers to the international superstars, will be recognised at one flagship event.

“The British Boxing Awards will shine a light on the people and organisations contributing to the phenomenal growth of the sport. Boxing champions, both in and out of the ring, will be recognised at this flagship event, which is a first for the sport in the UK,” said Adams.

“I am incredibly excited to be hosting the British Boxing Awards in November and urge boxing fans to get involved by nominating those they’d like to see win. It is going to be a special night.”

Adams became the first female gold medallist boxer in London in 2012 and retained her flyweight title in Rio in 2016. She held the WBO flyweight title in 2019 and retired undefeated after six fights.

Members of the public are able to nominate their boxing heroes ahead of the flagship event at www.britishboxingawards.com

The award categories sweep through multiple levels.

At the top end, there will be the highly coveted Men’s Boxer of the Year and Women’s Boxer of the Year. And there are plenty more commendations up for grabs in the Grassroots Boxing Hero, Out of the Ring Award, Best Brand of the Year, Inspirational Role Model and a Lifetime Achievement Award categories.

Brands and organisations with a track record of promoting access to boxing at grassroots level can also nominate for awards.

The 2024 British Boxing Awards shortlist will be released on 13 September.
